whywhy studio designed a promotional banner for IFAA (International Flying Aviation Association), an organization affiliated with the University of North Dakota. IFAA aims to help international students integrate into campus life and the broader community, while also providing non-international students with diverse cultural experiences that contribute to the cultivation of essential diversity within the aviation industry.

The design centers on the themes of integration and inclusivity, visually expressing how different perspectives and cultures can coexist within a unified identity. A variety of typefaces — sans-serif, serif, and script — were harmoniously combined, symbolizing the coexistence of distinct voices within the same cultural framework.

The primary typography uses bold, geometric forms to convey clarity and institutional confidence, while the large ampersand (“&”) at the center serves as a metaphor for connection — a bridge between different communities and experiences. Two color variations (deep violet and white) were developed to ensure adaptability across diverse environments, balancing visibility and tone.
